North Walsham-born former Norwich City winger Lauren Hemp started for England's women as they began their World Cup campaign with victory.
The Lionesses defeated Haiti 1-0 thanks to Georgia Stanway's penalty, taking them top of group D with Denmark and China still to play each other.
Stanway opened the scoring for Sarina Wiegman's side, dispatching her retaken penalty after VAR spotted an encroachment from the goalkeeper as her first spot kick was saved.
Hemp was replaced by Lauren James, sister of Chelsea full-back Reece, in the 61st minute, having struggled to make a mark against Haiti's sturdy full-backs.
She'll hope to feature again as England face Denmark on Friday (9:30am kick-off UK) and finish their group stage with a match against China on August 1 at midday (UK).
The European champions are hoping to build on their success last summer, after Hemp was involved in their Euro 2022 triumph at Wembley. After an unbeaten start to life under Wiegman, they struggled in their warm-up games for this tournament, and are attempting to rediscover their top form as it goes on.
