David Wagner wants another wide player in the door at Norwich City but would love to keep Milot Rashica for the Championship push.
The Kosovan international is wanted by Galatasaray after a successful season long loan stint, but the clubs have yet to thrash out an agreement.
Rashica and Max Aarons will return to Colney for testing on Thursday and are part of Wagner’s plans for the upcoming Austrian trip.
The City boss admitted it remains a holding pattern on the transfer front after Wednesday’s 1-1 friendly draw against AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands.
“The same I have said in the last few days. I expects ins and outs in the next weeks until the window closes,” he said. “How quick and when, no one knows, but I am happy that Milot and Max have testing tomorrow (Thursday) and will travel with us to Austria.
"Two quality bodies back. We have to see how fit they are and then we have make sure we build them up in the right way.
“The truth is I am in very lucky position as a manager. If he stays then I have a very top player. If a club meets our valuation then the owner and Stuart (Webber) can be happy because money comes in and then they have to decide what we do with that money.
"I am long enough in this business I know whatever happens I will deal with it. I can live with both scenarios. But if I could have a Max and a Milot in my squad I would be very happy.”
Wagner remains keen on an addition in wide areas after the untimely injury to summer signing Borja Sainz.
“I will not rule this out. There is a possibility,” he said. “But if nothing is agreed and signed it makes no sense to discuss it. We have our eye on the market but to be honest Jonny Rowe showed another solid performance in this game, like Onel (Hernandez).
"We have alternatives. Even if we want to get more or get these players to the next level.”
Ashley Barnes notched his fourth pre-season goal in a competitive work out against the Dutch side.
"I think we got what we hoped and expected," said the City boss. "We needed to make another step, especially the players who were playing 80 minutes, because it will only happen against the best opponent we faced in pre-season. I am very pleased with what I have seen. Everyone healthy.
"I held my breathe when (Shane) Duffy went down but he is okay. We were competitive for 60 minutes, we conceded two chances to individual errors from centre backs. We scored a good goal and we had other good chances offensively After 60 minutes we started to get very tired.
"I wanted to give them minutes in the legs and hard yards. They dug in, they fought, they made some great blocks in the box and that is why I am very positive after this game."
