Norwich City have been credited with an interest in winger Rafael Camacho.

The Portuguese youth international is currently on the books at Sporting Clube de Portugal but spent last season on loan to Greek top-flight side Aris Thessaloniki.

Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke is reporting that Norwich are keen to sign the 23-year-old this summer - with David Wagner said to be a long-term admirer of Camacho.

The report adds that City's Championship rivals Watford are also keeping tabs on Camacho's situation this window.

Camacho is out of favour and is entering the final year of his contract at the Jose Alvalade Stadium but could be permitted to depart for free this summer.

After struggling to ignite his career in Lisbon, Camacho is thought to be eyeing a return to England having spent time on the books of both Liverpool and Manchester City in his formative footballing years.

Norwich added Spanish winger Borja Sainz to their ranks last week after the 22-year-old activated a relegation release clause at Turkish club Giresunspor.

It's thought City could seek to add further reinforcements in that area of the pitch after concerns over a lack of creativity last term.

Camacho would fit the bill - with Sainz, Onel Hernandez, Christos Tzolis, Przemek Placheta and young duo Jon Rowe and Tony Springett the current options in that part of the pitch.

Milot Rashica is likely to depart this summer as talks with Galatasaray continue.

Camacho left Liverpool to join Sporting in a deal reportedly worth £5million in 2019. The Reds inserted a buyback clause into the deal at the time.

His senior appearances at Anfield arrived mostly as cover at right back for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Elsewhere, it's understood that Premier League side Brentford hold an interest in signing Max Aarons this summer.

The 23-year-old has been permitted to depart Carrow Road in this transfer window after entering the final 12 months of his contract.

West Ham and Fulham are also in the race to sign Aarons - but it's unlikely talks over any deal will advance until the conclusion of England U21s European Championship final against Spain on Saturday.

The City defender is part of Lee Carsley's squad that has made the final of the competition.
