David Wagner confirmed after Tuesday's opening 1-1 friendly draw at Barnet midfielder Gabby Sara will miss the first part of pre-season after an appendix operation.
The Brazilian capped an impressive debut season by clinching the player-of-the-year but is not expected to resume full team training until after the upcoming German camp.
Wagner had his say on the following after watching his squad in action at the Hive.
Gabby Sara absence
He had an appendix operation in the off-season. Luckily very early. He was back on the grass with the fitness coaches from Monday. It looks good, we think he will travel with us and get some football conditioning work out in Germany, and after the Germany trip, at the latest, he is back in team training.
He enjoyed some days in Europe in the off-season and when he went home to Brazil it happened and he had to have the operation. Not the best off-season - in terms of a quality holiday time - but he is okay now.
Transfer update. Happy with business so far and what is to come?
How do you define 'happy'? No, joking aside, I would not bet this is the squad in terms of ins and outs that we have available when the transfer window closes. No one knows. In and outs are possible. We will see what happens.
Now I am focused on the players we have. All the lads are back now, including the internationals, and we will now work hard in pre-season to ensure by the end of it we are one of the fittest teams with a clear idea on how we like to play in ball possession and out of ball possession.
We want to be very uncomfortable to play against.
Andrew Omobamidele's fitness after missing Republic of Ireland qualifiers
He had some groin problems at the end of last season and this is why he was out for his country. He really got a proper rehab programme as well. He had his first training sessions on Tuesday. He may get his first minutes at King's Lynn. If not, then Germany.
It looks good. Everything has settled down. It is the case that I expect him to train fully the next days and, if so, he will play at King's Lynn.
Will we see Borja Sainz and Shane Duffy feature at King's Lynn on Saturday?
I was there for the first test session on Monday. Then around for the first part of their double training session on the grass (on Tuesday). The plan is they get their first minutes on Saturday. If not, Germany at the latest. Dimi (Giannoulis) is another who has just come back after playing internationals. So he has to do his testing and then I would expect he is available for King's Lynn.
