Spanish wide player Borja Sainz has penned a farewell message to relegated Turkish club Giresunspor ahead of a proposed move to Norwich City.

City are expected to rubber stamp a deal to make him David Wagner's fourth signing of the summer, after targeting the 22-year-old who had 13 goal contributions in 32 league appearances last season.

Sainz exercised a relegation clause in recent days to leave the former Super Lig club as a free agent.

Now the Alaves youth product has indicated his time is over with Giresunspor, by posting a personal message in Spanish on his instagram account on Wednesday evening.

The English translation reads: "Today is a very special day where I have to say goodbye to all of you after almost a year together in which it has been an honour for me to defend these colours.

"Coming to Giresunspor was a decision I'm very proud of. In this time I have been lucky to be in the company of excellent people and professionals.

"Team mates, staff, club workers, you all have made me feel like someone else from day one and helped me grow as a footballer, not settle and go for more.

"We've had an intense season, with difficult moments in sport for the team and also off the pitch for Turkey because of the earthquakes that broke all our hearts. The bond with this club, this city, this country and its people I will always carry with me.

"I want to take this time out to thank you all for your support, love and respect. I wish you all the luck in the world. Our paths part ways, but I will always cherish this experience."

Norwich have already added free agents Ashley Barnes, Jack Stacey and Shane Duffy this summer, with Wagner pledging at Monday's fans' forum there would be more incoming business ahead of the Championship kick-off on August 5.
