Norwich City will face AZ Alkmaar in Holland on July 19 as part of their pre-season preparations for the Championship campaign.

The fixture will take place at Dutch amateur side VV Dirkshorn (KO 5.30pm UK time/6.30pm local time) against a club who finished fourth in the Eredivisie last season, and reached the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.

West Ham knocked out the Dutch side in a two-legged semi-final marred by crowd trouble in Holland, following the Hammers 3-1 aggregate victory.

City begin their pre-season friendlies with a trip to non league Barnet on July 4, followed by a game at neighbours King's Lynn on July 8.

The Canaries then head out to Germany to face Christoph Zimmermann's newly-promoted Bundesliga side Darmstadt at their Merck-Stadion am Bollenfalltor on Wednesday, July 12 (5.30pm kick-off UK time) before wrapping up that trip against Bundesliga Two side Kaiserslautern on Saturday, July 15 (2pm kick-off UK).

Following the return from Holland, Norwich will travel to Austria for another training camp ahead of a Carrow Road close season finale on July 29, with an opponent to be announced in due course.

David Wagner's squad, minus the international contingent, are now back at Colney to begin their pre-season preparations ahead of the league kick off against Hull City on August 5 at Carrow Road.
