Former Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke has left Borussia Monchengladbach.
German media reported the Canaries’ double Championship title winner’s exit on Friday afternoon, which was then confirmed by the five-time national champions after a 10th-placed finish in his debut season.
Farke is believed to have held talks with Borussia sporting director Roland Virkus in the past 24 hours following a disappointing campaign.
Borussia confirmed in their official statement in addition to Farke, his assistant coaches Edmund Riemer, Christopher John and Chris Domogalla have also departed.
"After several intensive discussions, Daniel Farke and we came to the conclusion that we should go our separate ways," said Virkus, in a club statement which outlined the decision had been reached after a 'detailed analysis of the season had brought both parties to the decision to end their co-operation'. "We would like to thank Daniel and his team for the work they have done."
Gladbach fans made their frustrations clear by turning their back on the team following a recent 2-1 defeat to Stuttgart, and calling for Farke to be dismissed after a downturn in results following the mid-season domestic World Cup break.
Borussia und Daniel Farke beenden die Zusammenarbeit. Eine gemeinsame, ausführliche Saisonanalyse hat beide Parteien zu diesem Entschluss gebracht.

Farke was appointed 12 months ago at Borussia, after a brief spell in Russian club football at Krasnodar.
The German twice led the Canaries to promotion, following his appointment as their first overseas coach in 2017, but was relegated in his only full season in the Premier League.
Farke was dismissed in November 2021 after a poor start to his second attempt at the top flight, and replaced by Dean Smith.
