Daniel Farke is on the hunt for striking reinforcements at Borussia Monchengladbach this summer at the point that a certain Teemu Pukki will be searching for a new club.

The pair enjoyed a successful relationship at Norwich City, with Pukki recruited back in 2018 specially to find goals within the German's tactical set-up.

70 of Pukki's 88 goals at Carrow Road arrived under Farke - the most goals he's netted under any coach in his career.

The Finnish international announced earlier this month that he would be departing Norwich at the end of his current contract, which expires in June - with the club accelerating plans to celebrate his career at the club on the final day of the Championship season against Blackpool.

Attentions for Pukki and his representative Teemu Turunen will then switch to what comes next.

Pukki is understood to already have offers on the table - but no decision has been made on where he will be playing his football next season.

America, Turkey and the Premier League are all likely to be destinations that pose as an option for Pukki - as well as Germany.

Despite being 33, Pukki's goalscoring record and lack of transfer fee will make him an attractive and viable option for a host of clubs in the market for a striker this summer.

Farke's Gladbach side will be one of the many clubs searching for goals in the upcoming transfer window.

At his latest press conference ahead of Gladbach's trip to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday, Farke reiterated the importance of the club's search for extra firepower amid speculation that Marcus Thuram could depart this summer.

"The search for a striker is incredibly important for the club," City's ex-head coach said. "If you want to have a good season in the Bundesliga, you need at least 30 goals from strikers in my opinion - not necessarily from one player. Being clinical is crucial."

It would seem like a natural fit given their close relationship at Norwich and how highly Farke rates the Finnish international.

Could a reunion be on the cards this summer? It would make sense for both parties.
