Norwich City's Championship run-in starts today as they welcome promotion-chasing Sheffield United to Carrow Road.

The Canaries are targeting a late run into the division's top six but will need to win the bulk of their remaining eight matches to secure a promotion shootout in the play-offs.

David Wagner has called for energy from his players and those in the stands ahead of the defining portion of the season - starting today against Paul Heckingbottom's high-flying Blades.

City welcome Adam Idah back to the squad after his absence against Stoke prior to the break. All those who represented their countries over the last fortnight have returned fit and healthy - including Scotland trio Angus Gunn, Grant Hanley and Kenny McLean.

Full back Sam Byram has returned to parts of team training but this fixture arrives too soon for the ex-Leeds man to return from a hamstring injury. Kieran Dowell is still on the comeback trail but could miss the remaining matches of the campaign.

Onel Hernandez and Jon Rowe will miss this afternoon's visit of Sheffield United and are doubtful for the Easter matches against Blackburn Rovers on Good Friday and Rotherham United on Easter Monday.

Isaac Hayden remains sidelined with a knee injury - although has started running on the grass with the sports science team.

City are hoping the international break will have served as a reset of sorts after a defeat to Sunderland and draws with struggling Huddersfield and Stoke. A victory this afternoon will help to shift the dial back towards a more positive setting.

Sheffield United arrive at Carrow Road on a high having booked their place in the FA Cup semi final before the pause for internationals.

Ex-City full back Heckingbottom has steered the club to second, but with rampant Middlesborough making up ground, the pressure is on the Blades to sustain their three-point cushion over Michael Carrick's side.

The Blades will be without striker Rhian Brewster who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury.

Ben Osborn and Daniel Jebbison will also miss the trip to Carrow Road whilst United are still without long-term absentees Rhys Norrington-Davies, Jack O’Connell and Ciaran Clark although Enda Stevens could return.
