Norwich City’s Natasha Snelling struck late on to retain their unbeaten league home record against AFC Wimbledon on Sunday.

The first half was high in quality but low on chances. Kathryn Stanley had the best chance of the half for Norwich. She went through after some great play down the left from Ellie Smith and Alice Parker, but she couldn’t slide it past the Dons keeper Faye Baker.

After a lengthy break in play due to an injury to Ceri Flye, the Dons took advantage of the Norwich player still moving gingerly and managed to score after an excellent header from Hannah Billingham.

It was close to 2-0 just after the break. Dons had the ball in the area with most of the goal to aim for, but skipper Anna Larkins somehow got her body in the way.

City’s chances were few and far between but at the death Norwich grabbed an equaliser as Snelling bundled the ball across the line after a goalmouth scramble.

Megan Todd almost got a winner as she looked to have the ball over the line but the Dons players managed to clear.

The Canaries stay above Wimbledon and remain unbeaten at home in the league.
