Norwich City youngster Saxon earley will be sold to a "top end League One club for a lot of money", according to current manager Steve Evans.

Evans signed left-back Earley on loan for League Two Stevenage this summer, where he's impressed, playing 27 times for The Boro and scoring twice.

Last night's 3-1 win over Crawley Town will be his last appearance for the club, however, as Evans confirmed post-match, saying: "He's going to a very, very top end League One club for a lot of money.

"I just said to him in front of the group, he arrived as a kid and leaves a man. He's been absolutely fantastic for us.

"I hope he plays Championship football next season because he has a job to do (for the club he joins)."

Hitchin Nub News have reported that club to be Plymouth Argyle, who currently have Norwich full-back Bali Mumba on loan. Mumba has impressed in a variety of roles including as a wing-back and a true winger on both the left and right, prompting calls for his return by Norwich fans.

The 21-year-old's future remains unclear, however, with Pilgrims boss Steven Schumacher admitting that City's next head coach "might come in who loves Bali Mumba, and if that's the case then that's the case, you have got to deal with it.

"Until that happens, Bali will continue playing here and hopefully keep enjoying it and keep doing what he's doing."

Speaking to the Pink Un in November, 19-year-old Earley said of his time at Stevenage: "It's been a really good season. I came in and nobody fancied us to be where we are at the moment.

"The gaffer's got us working hard and we sit second. We've surprised a lot of people. Hopefully we can keep going strong in the second half of the season.

"I'm very pleased. Obviously with anyone going on loan it's all about game time and experience. I've worked hard in training and done alright on the pitch as well, so I'm happy with the amount of time I've played."
