Norwich City parted company with head coach Dean Smith yesterday, after a 2-1 loss to Luton added to growing fan discontent at Carrow Road.
Smith won just 14 league games in his 13 months in charge of the Canaries, overseeing relegation earlier this year and leaving them in a precarious play-off position on his departure.
Also departing are assistant Craig Shakespeare and first-team coach Liam Bramley, with coaches Steve Weaver and Allan Russell taking charge for Friday’s meeting with Reading.
See some of the best reaction to Smith’s sacking from City fans below.
There was no way back for Dean Smith after the fans’ reactions in recent games. Feel a bit sorry for him, it never felt like ‘his’ team and this squad is not as good as Webber thinks it is. Our problems go so much deeper than the head coach though. Needs a total reset #ncfc

Yes Smith never got it right but are these bunch of players simply just not that good enough and we need to come to realisation promotion to the big time is a long time away! #ncfc

Dean Smith was not right manager from day one so right decision to let him go shame it wasn’t sooner, the home fans will get behind the boys on Friday the boos were always for Dean and what he had done to the team, play like we know you can. OTBC💚💛#ncfc

The right call, normally the League table doesn't lie but this time it does, we maybe 5th but we've been under performing for months all be it nicking a few results, need to get the new Management team in and bring Staff,Players, fans and local press back together! 💪🏼 #Ncfc https://t.co/7cIOGSimrc

3 shocking games were played after the winter break, the 4-week "holiday" the team had didn't work and the question begs.. why wasn't he sacked before this to give the new manager time? The answer, Webber is clueless, stubborn and didn't want to admit he was wrong. #deadend #ncfc

So the inevitable has finally happened! We called for Smith to go and we got our wish… Carrow Road now needs to be an absolute sea of noise on Friday! No excuses! Get behind the players and make it special, sing your hearts out from start to finish! #ncfc #otbc 💛💚

Whilst the sacking of Dean Smith is correct. I’ll be very intrigued to see what the new manager will bring because I don’t think this side is anywhere near as good as people make out. #ncfc

Absolute craziness bordering negligence to wait until the season started up again before sacking Dean Smith. The writing was on the wall after M'boro and a new coach would have had five weeks to bed in, unprecedented mid-season.

Was Webber actually out of the country? #ncfc
I'm glad Dean Smith has left the club I never thought he was the right man for the club but no idea who we will get next. I dont think Russ is ready yet #NCFC

How it’s taken @NorwichCityFC so long I can’t comprehend, and whilst there’s clearly some worrying cracks in the squad and at board level, I’m so relieved than Dean Smith has left. Appointment was a total disaster and he made no attempts to get on side with supporters. #NCFC

Already seen several tweets from other fans saying we're ridiculous for sacking Smith while 5th. Well these people clearly haven't sat through even 10 minutes of our season, if they had they'd be agreeing that he had to go #ncfc

Dean Smith on paper seemed to be exactly what #ncfc needed, it’s a shame it hasn’t worked out that way

While the correct decision (once confirmed), I do still have sympathy. Forgetting the financials, Dean Smith wanted it to work. He didn't set out to fail here & his professional & personal pride will have taken a massive hit. He's human. It just didn't work. That's football #ncfc
