Lowestoft Town joint-manager Micky Chapman admitted 10-man Harrow deserved to win as his side's four match winning streak in the Ryman League Premier Division came to an end at Earlsmead last night.

The visitors had a man advantage for 48 minutes following the first half sending off of Borough's Danny Leech, but the hosts bagged goals from Troy Hewitt and Kurt Morlese to send the Blues back to Suffolk with no reward.

Chapman admitted: “It's always difficult playing against 10, you see it at every level of football.

“We didn't deliberately take our foot off the gas but they defended really well, and to be brutally honest they deserved it tonight.”

Borough's Evandro Delgado fired just wide of the far post inside a minute, but with the scare survived the visitors almost took the lead on 12 minutes.

Jamie Godbold capitalised on a mistake by Kwasi Frempong to set Danny Bloomfield clear, but the in-form striker was denied by Jupp's fine one-handed stop.

Borough were closer still five minutes later as veteran striker Rocky Baptiste's free-kick from the edge of the area, after a foul on Dean Marney, deflected off the wall and struck the post.

The former Havant and Waterlooville front-man was then presented with an even better chance, but fluffed his lines from just 12 yards out.

As the breathless action continued Lee McGlone forced another fabulous stop from Jupp - a save made all the better by the deflection the strike took off a Harrow foot.

Leech's first yellow came on the half hour when he came in late on Andy Fisk - referee Lennard deciding a booking was sufficient punishment.

However the midfielder didn't make the most of the reprieve as a clumsy challenge on Craig Bussens saw him dismissed three minutes before half-time.

McGlone twice went close as Chapman's men tried to press home their man advantage early in the second-half.

Yet it took a brave save by Andy Reynolds at the feet of Delgado to stop Borough going in front against the run of play.

The warning wasn't heeded and on 64 minutes the hosts grabbed a goal to hang on to as Baptiste and Troy Hewitt combined before the latter smashed the ball home from the edge of the box.

Lowestoft made a double change with 18 minutes to go, Jamie Forshaw and David Chick replacing Stuart Ainsley and Bloomfield.

McGlone had another effort deflected over on 80 minutes. But it was Harrow who struck a killer blow three minutes from time, Kurt Morlese scoring with his first touch after replacing Baptiste.

There was still time for McGlone to strike the woodwork and for Adam Smith's header to force another stop from Jupp, but this was Harrow's night.
