Optic NEN League round-up

Coltishall, who have high hopes of catching Gimingham in the Slater & Frith Division One, were visitors to Hall Road, Gimingham in search of a win.

Despite a brace from Joe Woodcock, Coltishall had to settle for a share of the spoils with the league leaders, drawing two a-piece and surely the best they can now probably achieve is runners-up spot as they have to rely on the champions slipping up.

Runton currently sit in second spot following their 6-1 away win at North Walsham A. East Ruston picked up three points travelling away to Briston, scoring five times, with Lee Woodhouse leading the way with a hat-trick, the home side replying twice. Ludham also hit five, at home to Aldborough Lions who netted once.

Wayford Nurseries Division Two Leaders Haisboro Athletic were held at home by Cromer Youth Old Boys, Haisboro took a wind-assisted two-goal interval lead thanks to James Underhill and Alan Maxwell only for Daniel Tyrell and Chris Chisholm to level for the visitors.

In the local derby at Buxton Reserves finished honours even as the visitors, Aylsham A. shared the points and two goals. A George Abbott hat-trick and Scott Symonds’ goal set up a 4-1 home win for Lyng over Corpusty Reserves whilst Holt A won 2-1 at home to Felmingham.

Cawston Wanderers still lead the Knights Trophies Division Three but they were made to work hard for their latest victory, a solitary goal success over Glaven Valley.

Blakeney continue to chase down the leaders, recording another win, this time at home to Mundesley Reserves, as they ran out 5-2 victors.

There were away successes for Gimingham Reserves, 2-1 winners at Aldborough Lions Reserves, Holt Colts, 3-2 winners at Erpingham Reserves, and in the local derby at East Ruston Reserves, Sutton Rangers returned home 2-0 victors.
