Norwich City target Ashley Barnes is considering his options ahead of deciding his next club after leaving Burnley.
The experienced striker has revealed he has been inundated with offers since his departure from the Championship title winners was announced.
Reports on Tuesday night from The Sun's transfer expert Alan Nixon indicated that City were leading the race for the 33-year-old and were willing to offer him a two-year contract to join David Wagner's squad next season.
Barnes has already visited Norfolk as Wagner seeks to add experience and a fresh mentality into his squad.
A host of other Championship clubs are also courting Barnes including Hull, Stoke and Preston.
Barnes is set to take a period of time before deciding his next destination after a long stint at Turf Moor.
“I want to keep playing," he told the Burnley Telegraph. "It’s just down to waiting to see what options are about, I’ve got lots of meetings to come and then make the decision from there.
“It’s been incredible and I never thought I’d get this much love and to be wanted. I don’t know anything different and I’ve been here for 10 years now, so it’s something special to be wanted still at the age of 33."
Barnes played a crucial role in Burnley's success under Vincent Kompany this season - scoring seven goals in 39 appearances.
He has experience three promotions with the Clarets in nine years and is keen to contend again next season.
Even at 33, he still feels capable of playing at the top level of the game.
“I’m as fit as a fiddle. Until the body says no then I’ll keep continuing to play and I want to keep continuing to play as long as possible," Barnes said.
“I still feel I can play in the Premier League, without a doubt. But it wasn’t to be here so it’s one of them. I’ll just have to go again and wherever I go, if it’s abroad, if it’s here, I want to win, I want to get promoted again, I want to get another challenge and see what’s what.
"I don’t know (what’s next). The phone is still ringing which is a pure joy for everyone here. I want to keep playing as long as possible so I’m open to offers and see what’s about.”
