Milot Rashica’s ‘heart’ is at Galatasaray after his Turkish-based advisor dismissed reported interest from Premier League new boys Burnley in the Norwich City attacker.

Speculation over the weekend claimed the Clarets were eying an £11m move for the 26-year-old, who is currently spearheading Gala’s bid for a Super Lig title during a season-long loan.

Gala officials have made no secret of their desire to keep Rashica in Istanbul, ahead of stepping up talks with City at the end of the current campaign.

But Rashica’s representative, Aykut Erçetin, has told Turkish radio station Radyospor on Monday rumoured interest from Burnley ‘does not reflect the truth’.

"Milot Rashica is very happy to be in Galatasaray and in Turkey. Milot Rashica's heart is in favour of staying in Galatasaray,” said Erçetin. "Milot Rashica has become the indispensable name of the first 11. Okan (Buruk) is very pleased with Milot Rashica's contribution to both attack and defence.

"Milot Rashica is completely focused on the championship. His goal is to become a champion in Galatasaray.

"Everybody remembers Norwich City, but the performances at Werder Bremen were very good."

Rashica has scored six goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances for Gala, who saw their lead at the top of the table to great rivals Fenerbahce cut to three points after a 3-1 weekend defeat at Nathan Redmond’s Besiktas.

Gala president, Dursun Ozbek, confirmed to Turkish media last month negotiations would only begin in earnest with Norwich after the end of the domestic season, with a €7.5m deal or another loan with a view to buy options on the table.

Rashica, who is under contract at Carrow Road until 2025, saw his debut campaign end in Premier League relegation, after arriving from Werder Bremen in 2021 for a potential club-record transfer.

David Wagner indicated when he initially arrived there was no facility to recall Rashica in the January transfer window.

But the City head coach has made it clear in the past fortnight he wants to refresh his squad in the summer transfer window for another tilt at the Championship next season.
