David Wagner has made his mind up on Norwich City’s out-of-contract stars - but the outcome of the Canaries’ Championship play-off push will be the deciding factor.

The likes of Teemu Pukki, Kieran Dowell, Sam Byram and Onel Hernandez are among a group entering the final weeks of current Carrow Road deals.

Wagner confirmed he sat down with sporting director Stuart Webber over the international break, as he looks to a potential summer squad refresh.

But before that Sheffield United’s Saturday visit marks the start of what he hopes is an 11-game swing ending in a Wembley Championship play-off final.

Wagner was unequivocal when asked if he had come to a firm decision on his soon-to-be out-of-contract players.

“Yes,” he said. “Now at this stage I don't think it makes sense to speak publicly about it. I have got my head around it. I have sat together with Stu (Webber), even if decisions are not written in stone.

“Why? Well hopefully we hope we have 11 games, and a very successful game to come in the final game. Obviously this then counts in terms of our final decision, or in my decision as well.

"So this is why I can't speak publicly about anything. But obviously, I'm now here long enough together with the guys to have a good picture about this situation.

“(Will there be a summer overhaul?) If the question means do I think we will have exactly the same squad together next season like in this season? I don't think so. But, listen, let's keep this theme relatively short.

"I am thinking about what we can do in the summer, for sure. I have some ideas. But none of those ideas are written in stone. To be fair, at the minute, the focus is all about Sheffield United, and obviously then the games after come thick and fast as well. And this is the most important thing.”
