Swansea chief Luke Williams has admitted facing Norwich City is a scary prospect due to the individual quality within the Canaries ranks.

Gabriel Sara sparkled throughout the contest, netting a fine strike from distance before putting the ball on a sixpence for Josh Sargent to nod home after Jamie Paterson gave the Welsh side the lead.

Matt Grimes' second-half penalty ensured Williams' side left Norfolk with a point, but he was in awe of City's quality during his post-match reflections at Carrow Road.

"It's so scary to play against, honestly," Williams admitted. "When you see them up close, you realise the quality they have, the power and how smart they are.

"The header [from Josh Sargent] is a long way outside the frame of the goal and he has a tiny area to hit but he does it.

"I have known Ashley Barnes from the beginning of his career. He's an unbelievable player who has proven himself in the Premier League, so when you see these guys, you know you're going to be in a tough game.

"We played brave today because we didn't play so defensive to try and stop these players, the balance was good. We tried to defend brave, take the ball and play brave and when we faltered in this game was when we went inside our shell a bit and these good players can smell it.

"There is so much quality in that Norwich side and they are a very good team to be up against and see close like that."

Williams spent four years as a youth player at Carrow Road and shared stories post-press conference of working under Gordon Bennett and playing alongside Darel Russell in City's academy.

This was his first visit back to Carrow Road as an opposing manager and he was delighted that his side withstood the challenge of facing a City side who are unbeaten at home since November.

"The opposition is brilliant for this level," he said. "If they didn't have a slow start in terms of results then I think they'd be absolutely secure in the play-off positions if not pushing for the automatic positions.

"So to come here with the opposition in a good place, with very obvious motivation and a great crowd behind them and to give a really strong performance, I'm happy with that."
